Florida Yachts - Nordhavn 43'

Levity - Nordhavn 43'
The Nordhavn 43 is the direct result of lessons learned on that challenging and very satisfying adventure. It also represents the culmination of what 25 years of quality boat building has taught us. Unlike other boat builders, they did not set out to design a 43-foot model to fit a marketing strategy. Instead they challenged themselves to make a great boat, the Nordhavn 40, even better. Likewise, they knew that the Nordhavn 47 was already on its way to becoming one of their all time best sellers. This was simply more boat than many people wanted or could afford. A careful comparison of both the 40 and new 47 formed the design parameters for a new model. It just happened to result in a 43-foot long boat. And it just may become the most popular Nordhavn yet.

Nordhavn 50' "Boundary Waters"

BOUNDARY WATERS Nordhavn 50' was designed by Jeff Leishman, N.A. This boat is fully fitted with upgrades and amenities. From the Lugger Wing engine, V drive and 11 knots maximum speed capability, the Boundary Waters sails like a dream. This Nordhavn 50' is equipped with a 300 gallon fresh water tank and 1320 gallon fuel tank capacity. There's plenty of room on board with 2 cabins and 2 heads. Sail away on Boundary Waters Nordhavn 50'.

America's oldest museum happens to be The Charleston Museum right here in South Carolina. It opened in 1773, and from the beginning, displayed geological specimens from its surrounding areas. Outside there is a replica of the American Civil War H. L. Hunley submarine of the Confederate States of America. Drawing from my vast experience working at the Groton submarine factory (Ha Ha), I explained to Emily that the Hunley demonstrated the advantages and the dangers of undersea warfare. She was the first combat submarine to sink a warship, although Hunley was not completely submerged and, following her successful attack, was lost along with her crew before she could return to her base. Apparently, the bowsprit containing the explosive charge was not quite long enough!

Becoming Istaboa: We happened on her for sale in Palm Beach, Fl and quickly realized, we found our boat. A 57 Nordhavn was always at the top of my list of great boats and it didn't take much poking around to see she was loaded with the right stuff as well as in good shape. We worked out our deal, took her out into 10' seas for a sea trial, took a night to think about it, and the rest is history. We now own a 57 Nordhavn. The previous owner kept a captain and mate busy on board and she was already in turn key mechanical condition. So without much fuss we loaded her up with fuel and made a run for the Abacos; then the Berrys, Eleuthera, and Cat. She ran flawlessly. After a few months of island cruising, we ran her around the Keys, across the Gulf of Mexico, and up the Tenn-Tom Waterway to Tennessee.
